A corporate worker can also be a Y2K girl chasing stardom. An architect might be a tender cat lover. An edgy rock musician could thrive as a quiet gallery volunteer. Every facet is a thread in the fabric of selfhood: playful, grounded, serene, fiery. This vibrant authenticity is what weaves Short Sentence into a collective mosaic—a kaleidoscope of identities, contradictions, and stories.

Anna, a Scotland native now based in Shanghai, is the founder and head stylist at Doc Guthrie’s Barber Shop. Known for her American pompadours and shaves, she also shares a glass of Scottish whisky with every customer.

SIJI, the owner of DFH Art Ceramics, splits her time between Shanghai and Jingdezhen. Her ceramics reflect her calm, delicate side, while her everyday life is full of fun and relaxed moments.

Qiu Qiu, a Shanghai-based artist and freelance model. Through painting, Qiuqiu explores the flow of her true self – soft, strong, light, and deep – embracing all sides of who she is.

Luyuan is a model with a cool, focused presence. She’s precise in everything she does, but around small animals, her softer side comes through.

John, an Italian designer in Shanghai, is the embodiment of balance. He can’t help but move to the rhythm of music, yet finds equal joy in moments of solitude, skating with headphones on and escaping into his own space.

ZM is a model and outdoor enthusiast with an eco-conscious mindset. On her commute, she’s all about coffee and glasses, but once off work, she switches to Y2K-inspired looks for concerts – living two lives in one day.
